Energy Management as an Integrated System

An Energy Management System (EnMS) is a management infrastructure coupled to management best practices with the goal of providing your organization with the means to continually and sustainably improve your energy performance while being able to measure, verify and, ultimately, prove your success.

WHAT WE MEAN BY AN INTEGRATED SYSTEM

An integrated system will take into consideration the nature and particularities of your business and ensure that energy management best practices are applied coherently and efficiently throughout the various functions of your organization.

Furthermore, if you already have a management system in place or if you are currently engaged in a continuous improvement initiative, an integrated system will piggyback on the knowledge acquired by your employees and the  infrastructure that you have put in place in order to reduce implementation time and cost.

For instance, if you have implemented ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, we will take advantage of the fact that your employees already understand the concept, the terminology and the workings of an international management standard to minimize the level of effort required for the implementation of an energy management system compatible with ISO 50001.

The same thing goes if some of your employees are already trained on continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma (i.e Black Belts or others).  We can simply complement their training with the principles of Lean Energy and its related tools such as the VSMe (Value Stream Mapping Energy), Takt Time and Kaizen energy blitzes.
